On the Doorstep is a performance inspired by Galoshans traditions of doorstep performances and exchnages, led by Sally Charlton, as RIG Arts Artist in Residence for Galoshans Festival.
We are looking for people to take part from the towerblocks on Ann Street; Broomhill Court, Prospecthill Court & Whinhill Court.
Do you have a story to tell of your life in the block?
Do you have a song, poem or dish you’d like to share with your neighbours?
We are looking for participants of all ages and backgrounds and you do not need any art or performance experience to take part.
There will be two information sessions at the RIG Art Flat.
In the weeks following, weekly sessions will be held to connect with our neighbours, with creative writing, song or movement exercises.
If you feel unable to attend in-person sessions or leave your flat, but would like to be involved in this creative project, please get in contact. We are keen to include as wide a group of residents as possible. If you have any access requirements for participation, please let us know.
We will be developing a piece of work to be performed and filmed the week commencing 13th October, screened at Broomhill Gardens and Community Hub on Friday 17th October.
